Antique Ottoman Flintlock Pistol // Early-Mid 1800's
Product Description
An antique Ottoman flintlock smoothbore pistol, made in the early-mid 1800's. With steel barrel and lock, and brass butt cap and trigger guard. The steel exhibits a silver/brown oxidized patina, the barrel with very thin walls with deep pitting on outside along barrel channel and around breech (not safe to fire). The ribbed frizzen shows little to no wear, and the wood stock shows moderate handling with crack on right front of barrel channel and missing small sections of brass pommel tail on the grip. The rounded brass cap on the butt allowed the pistol to be used as a "skull crusher" during hand-to-hand combat. The pistol has an 11" .56 caliber barrel (entire pistol length 16 1/2 inches). With custom metal stand. Ex Montgomery County, PA collection. A neat decorator/display piece!
