Enormous Medieval "Bastard" Sword // c. 1200 - 1500 AD
Product Description
An incredible and massive Medieval iron "Bastard" sword, circa 1200–1500 AD. A huge two-handed sword, the 29.5 inch blade with parallel sides and reinforced tip, the fuller running the entire length. The grip is quite long at two hands with three rivets which held the original wood handle inlay, lost to history. The guard is crescent-shaped, and the pommel is dome-shaped. Overall length 38 3/4" (98.2 cm). A solid and well-preserved example! Ex Neil Watt collection, Austin, TX; Ex Artomex, acquired in 1997.
