I have not seen another pack of $ 1 Siver Certificates with this HIGH GRADE and STAR NOTE combination before. This really is a STUNNING AND RARE PACK!!
The STAR signifies a “replacement note”. STAR Notes are far more valuable than a regular printed note and much more collectable!
When The Bureau of Engraving and Printing or BEP prints a sheet of notes and they are damaged in any way, the notes must be destroyed. By law, they need to print notes bearing the damaged serial numbers. When they print the new notes, they must bear a STAR in front of the serial number. This designates the note as a “replacement note”.
The pack has been graded by PCGS in 65 Gem Uncirculated (GEMCU) Premium Paper Quality (PPQ). The pack has the original Bureau of Engraving and Printing (BEP) strap. There are 100 notes in the pack. The complete serial number for the pack is V 45690701 A - V 45690800 A. So this pack is a V – A block.
